Watermelon Zkittlez unites two complementary lines:
The result: a balanced 50/50 hybrid that combines the best of both lines — the structure, stability and resin production of the OG genetics with the unique sweet-fruity aroma profile of the Watermelon line. The name, sometimes written Watermelon Zkittles, points to that Zkittlez-style candy sweetness on top of the watermelon.
At 25–26% THC, Watermelon Zkittlez is among the strongest hybrids in the American Strains catalogue. The balanced 50/50 genotype means this strength is neither purely body-sedating nor purely cerebral — it's experienced as a harmonious interplay of euphoria and relaxation.
The Watermelon Zkittlez effects are balanced — the 50/50 hybrid delivers both energising and relaxing effects:
Watermelon Zkittlez has one of the fruitiest and sweetest profiles in the catalogue: a dominant watermelon aroma with candy sweetness and creamy bubblegum notes over a soft earthy base. The trichome production is exceptionally dense — the aroma stays intense and long-lasting even after curing.
| Terpene | Typical impressions | Contribution to the profile |
|---|---|---|
| Limonene | Fresh, citrusy, slightly sweet | Main carrier of the fruity sweetness — mood lift, euphoria |
| Myrcene | Earthy, musky, slightly fruity | The earthy base, supports physical relaxation |
| Caryophyllene | Spicy, peppery, warm | Lends depth and a warm, peppery edge to the sweet profile |
The combination of 25–26% THC and exceptionally dense trichome production makes Watermelon Zkittlez an excellent starting material for terpene-rich extractions:
Flowering time 53 days under LED (HPS: 60 days). Yield: 400 g/m² standard, up to 750–800 g/1.5 m² with a 720 W LED. Good airflow and moderate humidity (45–55%) are important — the dense flowers are sensitive to botrytis. LST and topping recommended. A slow dry (10–14 days) and at least 3 weeks of curing give the best aroma.
Harvest in September in the northern hemisphere. 750 g – 1 kg per plant. Robust, forgiving genetics — well suited to various climate zones. As a photoperiod strain, Watermelon Zkittlez is planted out once the risk of frost has passed and starts flowering when the days shorten in late summer.

A balanced 50/50 hybrid — it offers both energising, euphoric head effects and relaxing body effects. Neither pole strongly dominates, which makes the strain especially versatile.

Classic Zkittlez strains emphasise a mixed candy-fruit profile. Watermelon Zkittlez by Pyramid Seeds — also spelled Watermelon Skittles — has a specifically juicy watermelon main aroma from the Watermelon Zum Zum parent line, combined with the stability and resin production of the OG Eddy line.
Yes. Watermelon Zkittlez seeds are feminized — “feminised” in British spelling — so practically every plant is a female that produces buds. It is a photoperiod strain, not an autoflower: it starts flowering when the light is switched to 12/12 indoors, or when the days shorten outdoors.
Yes — the difficulty is rated easy and the genetics are robust and forgiving. The one point to watch is humidity during flowering: keep it at about 45–55% with good airflow, because the dense buds are sensitive to botrytis.
